CF332
The CF332 is a TypeII format Compact Flash (CF+) dual Isolated RS232 asynchronous serial port for your PDA, laptop (with an optional adapter), or desktop (using one of Elan's Desktop PCMCIA adapters).
CF332
The card automatically configures to become two COM ports by using the built-in O.S. drivers that are tried and tested and are optimized to work in the Windows environment. The serial ports feature TX, RX, CTS and RTS signals on each port, and are isolated up to 50V DC from the host supply. The isolation feature makes it easy to avoid ground loops and offset voltages that are common in instrumentation systems, especially where long cable lengths are used to connect the RS232 equipment. Normally these offset voltages would cause unreliable comms or in some cases, no communication at all. The two COM ports share a common ground connection.
*Due to the internal isolation, and the partial RS232 interface, this card may not be suitable for connection to equipment that scavenges powers from the RS232 signal lines. Please consult us if you are unsure about a particular application.
Technical Features: 16C550 UARTs with 16-byte TX and RX FIFOs for high speed and reliable communications up to 115.2KBaud.
Uses two of Elan's unique VPU16551 highly integrated UARTs.
Each port has its own TX, RX, CTS and RTS signals, plus a common ISOGND.
ISOGND can be up to +/-50V offset from host 0V, at DC to 60Hz, whist maintaining normal operation.
Supported by standard drivers in Windows95, 98, 98SE, Me, 2000, XP, Ce, PocketPC & Linux. Card comes with Elan's Card Center Pro software that installs INF scripts and sample code.
Automatic O.S. recognition and configuration.
Hot swappable CF+ compliant TypeII design.
Low power consumption: Typical 35mA at 3.3V
Provides true RS232 levels on any PDA or laptop.
Also available with robust direct cable termination instead of Type49 cable, product code CF332R. MOQ may apply.
15KVolt ESD protected RS232 drivers and receivers for protection of your card and PC.
Supplied with 300mm Type49 cable. Connector latches into CF Card for security. DB9 Male with female screwlocks and industry standard RS232 pinout for direct attachment of terminal equipment.
