HD717 - Synchronous RS422/485 4MBits/sec HDLC Serial Comms PCMCIA Card
The HD717 uses an industry standard Serial Comms Controller Chip to support serial data formats such as HDLC, X25, Monosync and Bisync. The same controller can also support various asynchronous data formats. Because this controller can support up to 4MBits/sec on both TX and RX channels concurrently, it needs extra data buffering for use in high latency operating systems like Windows. What makes the HD717 is unique is that rather than relying on the measly 4 byte buffer on-chip, we supplemented it with 4KByte FIFOs for both TX and RX data. This means that even at maximum rate, the HD717 card can still maintain its data flow with under/over runs.
Technical Features
- Zilog 85233 SCC chip with unique supplementary 4KByte TX and RX FIFOs. - Bit-synchronous data rates up 4MBits/sec with RS422 differential interfaces, including HDLC, X25 etc.
- RS422 drivers can be tri-stated under software control to allow half-duplex RS485 operation.
- SCC supports RTZ, NRZ, NRZL, FM0 and FM1 encoding of serial data. - Flexible clock routing and generation architecture, supplementary to SCC's own baud rate generators
- SCC also supports asynchronous serial modes up to 1MBaud
- Fast interrupt driven architecture with access to FIFO flags as well as SCCs internal status registers
- Card also implements a low-rate data channel (unrelated to SCC) for use with flight recorder playback
- 8 general purpose digital I/O lines for monitoring and/or control
- Card comes with Elan's Card Center Pro software with sample C++ code.
- Working prototype driver/dll + source code available for Windows NT4 /W2000/XP solution.
- Automatic O.S. recognition and configuration.
- Hot swappable PCMCIA 2.1+ compliant TypeII design
- Low power consumption: Typical 35mA at 5V, with software support for reduced power sleep mode
- Supplied with 1m Type30 cable. Connector latches into PC Card for security. Terminates to DB37 Female with male screw jacks
- Can be fitted with Elan's unique Strain Relief Assembly to ruggedize the PC Card to cable connection (optional extra), product code "SRA1"

SL100 - Chrysler CCD Vehicle Bus Comms PC Card
The SL100 uses a standard 16450 UART with baud rate settings that makes it capable of communicating with a Chrysler CCD Vehicle bus. The SL100 uses a protected interface driver chip, as prescribed by the bus specification, to connect with vehicle peripherals in a robust and highly noise immune way. The card automatically configures to become another COM port by using the built-in O.S. drivers that are tried and tested and are optimized to work in the Windows environment.
Technical Features
- 16C450 UART with 1.00MHz crystal allowing data rates compatible with the bus system, including 7812.5Baud
- 5V supply available at the edge connector
- Card comes with Elan's Card Center Pro software that installs INF scripts and sample code.
- Drivers work in DOS*, Windows95, 98, 98SE, Me, 2000, XP
- Automatic O.S. recognition and configuration.
- Hot swappable PCMCIA 2.1+ compliant TypeII design
- Low power consumption: Typical 15mA at 5V
- Protected serial drivers and receivers for protection of your card and PC
- Supplied with 1m Type30 cable. Connector latches into PC Card for security.
- Terminates to DB37 Female with male screw jacks
- Can be fitted with Elan's unique Strain Relief Assembly to ruggedize the PC Card to cable connection (optional extra), product code "SRA1"

GO32 - 80C320 uProcessor Comms PCMCIA Card
The G032 card incorporates an 80C320 ROMless uProcessor capable of running at 20MHz and executing instructions some 1.5x to 3x as fast as the comparable 8051 device while maintaining code compatibility with the 8051. For external interaction, the uProcessor is connected to 2 separate fault protected RS232 interfaces and several uProcessor I/O lines are also available at the card's edge connector. Firmware for the uProcessor is downloaded from the host into a dual ported SRAM at application run-time. This memory serves as the program store and a message exchange buffer with certain locations able to cause interrupts to the host PC or to the uProcessor.
Technical Features
- 80C320 uProcessor with 10 or 20MHz clock speed (host software configurable)
- 4KBytes of byte-wide dual port RAM for program storage and message passing to host PC. RAM is lockable from host PC side to allow protection against eronious writes
- RAM region contains certain key addresses that allow message passing under interrupt control to and from the host PC.
- Dual fault protected RS232 interfaces connect to the uProcessor for external comms. Each port is programmable as DTE or DCE to allow reconfiguration of physical interfaces without changing cables. Port driver circuits allow up to 50KBaud (slew rate limited)
- I/O from uProcessor available for status and/or control at edge connector 500us resolution timer can driver uProcessor interrupt to allow long timing periods to be attained in firmware
