USB-DAQ-BOX-12
Hacker Datentechnik announces the release of the MF16080 series, a family of small portable USB data acquisition cards. The new MF16080 series combines 16 analog inputs, 8 analog outputs and 10 digital ports in a very small aluminum enclosure.
Please contact us for the datasheet !
Lightweight, small and durable: The cards enclosure is made of 2mm aluminum providing excellent shielding, maximum stability and durability for everyday use in the field.
A design goal was to use standard connectors; the card is equipped with an industry standard 37 pole DSUB connector and a mini USB device connector. There are no proprietary cables needed.
The dimensions are only 105 x 72 x 16 mm including connectors.
Not larger than the DSUB connector, it can be simply hooked up onto terminal blocks and BNC boxes. At a weight of 105g it fits easily into a pocket. The card is bus powered and requires less than 0.25W in operation.
Capture features: The cards offer 16 analog inputs and 8 analog outputs. Input voltage ranges are available from 4 to 24V maximum, and differential input mode is software-selectable. The resolution is 12 bit for both analog inputs and outputs. The inputs operate at a maximum sample rate of 30kHz if one channel is used and up to 100kHz if all 16 channels are scanned. The card has a "near-simultaneous" sampling feature, the delay between 2 adjacent channels is 10µs regardless of the sample rate. For example at 1kHz sample rate the phase error introduced is only 1% of the sampling period instead of 100%.
The 8 analog outputs that are fed from 8 independent D/A converters provide output voltages in the range 0 to 4.096V at 2mA maximum current.
The digital port lines are TTL compatible. Each line can be programmed as input or output. 4 lines can source up to 15mA for direct LED or relay connection, the other lines source up to 2mA.
Thermal stability is ensured by a low power design, a reference voltage source, parts with low temperature coefficient and a built-in temperature sensor. For external circuitry the card provides a 5V sensor power supply.
Applications: The MF16080 is a robust instrument that can be applied to nearly any industrial data acquisition, monitoring or logging problem. It's primary advantages are the high versatility because of the high number of inputs and outputs. The size makes it one of the smallest USB data acquisition cards available. Data acquisition applications include monitoring industrial machinery for control, maintenance and troubleshooting, automotive testing, closed-loop control systems and in general amplitude, phase and timing measurements.
Software: The software package consists of an API for creating own applications using Microsoft Visual Studio, Agilent VEE, NI LabVIEW and TransEra HT-Basic. Furthermore the data logger enables the user to immediately stream data to disk and export data in an Excel compatible text format. A comprehensive manual and example programs for every supported programming language complete the package. Many more features are available using PCDAQ Scope. It features virtual instruments such as an oscilloscope, data logger and signal analyzer with more than 500 mathematical functions including signal processing.
Versatile and competitive: The combination of the top quality aluminum case, the high number of inputs and outputs and the small size make the MF16080 USB data acquisition card series a unique product returning a high value for its price. After installing the software and plugging in the card using the provided USB cable it is ready to operate. System requirements are Windows 2000 or Windows XP and a free USB port.

USB-Data Acquisition with integrated DSP Controller
The USB2-DAQ/DIO with its included Motorola DSP Controller and the USB 2.0 support is a powerful and very modular system for USB based Data Acquisition and Control.
General Information
For nearly all types of measurement signals and transmitters, e.g. Temperature, Pressure, Bridge Transducer, Voltage or Current signals, SAK-Amplifier-Boards are available with or without galvanic isolation. Each SAK-Amplifier-Board transforms the input signal range to an output signal from -10V (-5V) to +10V (+5V). Generally SAK-Boards are available with 1, 2 or 4 measuring channels. The SAK-Boards have 19" plug in boards. They are placed into the USB2-DAQ Base Units. The input signals are mechanically connected to the SAK-Board by BNC connectors, Lemo connectors or screw terminals. The included DSP board of the USB2-DAQ System allows you to use all analog and digital input and output channels simultaneously at the same time. The SAK-Amplifier Boards are completed by Lowpass Filter, Sample & Hold and Triggerfunctions.
USB2-DAQ/UNIT The standard Table Case Unit supports 12 SAK-Boards in one unit. Up to 4 USB Units can work simultaneously at USB 2.0.
USB2-DSP Controller/DAQ Board
The central heart of the USB DAQ/DIO System is a 12 bit or 16 bit DSP USB DAQ board with onboard Motorola DSP56311. It consists of the central processor and an integrated filter coprocessor, working at the same time and allowing parallel data processing. The processor runs at an operating frequency of 150 MHz and fulfills 255 milion instructions per second (255 MIPS). It can control all operations on the data acquisition systems without orders of the host computer, offering fast acquisitions and standalone operation.
The digital signal processor is equiped with internal and external memory. The internal memory consists of 128kWords with a bitwidth of 24 bit. It is configured in 32kWords program RAM and 2x48kWords data RAM. Furtheron the USB version has 1,5MByte external SRAM for fast access which can be freely divided into program or data memory. This dynamically administered memory is used in different ways, depending on the applications. So an optimal use of the given resources is guaranteed. The combination of memory and signal processor is very important for the USB bus because of the missing realtime capacity. Fast and exact measurements are impossible without it, so the processor must control it and buffer the data in the memory until the host computer receives the data or sends new orders. The data is processed packetwise. By this way, even realtime controlling and measurement is possibly via USB.
The digital signal processor has more abilities than only controlling measurements. It is used for processing the data flow by predefined rules. The user can select different algorithms for filtering, PID controlling, calculating FFT values and watching for analog triggering values to control other processes. These online functions are very various and can be freely programmed. Different functions are availiable, customer-specific algorithms can be developed on request. By this lot of data processing can be moved from pc system to the DAQ board, this process relieves the host computer and gives the chance for realtime reactions with guaranteed latency times. All reactions are handled within one sampling period, this means 10µs when sampling with 100kHz. The USB box is equipped with an independent power supply. By this it can be used in standalone mode without being connected to the host computer. After making all settings and programming the box it can be disconnected and will go on running on it's own. If it is used the same algorithm often it can be saved in the flash EEPROM of the box, so there will be no need for connecting a host computer again to start this "known" tasks. Even with this, when connecting to PC, a normal use is all time possible.
The DSP USB DAQ board is available with 12 bit or 16 bit resolution, with 16 or 32 A/D channels, 4 D/A channels, 24 digital I/O lines and two 24 bit Counter.

Available SAK DAQ/DIO Signal Conditioning Boards
The following diagrams show you the standard SAK-Amplifier Boards for the USB2-DAQ/DIO System. For each type of input signal we build up one table. The normal signal output range of all SAK-Amplifiers for analog values is -10V .. +10V or 0 .. 10V.
For every type of SAK-Amplifier we can offer you further measurement ranges. Also it is possible to order SAK-Amplifiers with an output signal range from -5V .. +5V or 0V .. 5V. Depending on the measurement signal and the sampling rate of the data acquisition board SAK-Amplifiers with a smaller signal bandwidth are available.
